I Love Thor Donating Member | 7 months; the *MaGiC* age? Thor is 7 months now, and although I have to admit that I miss his adorable tiny little puppy furball days, I am also so happy that he is growing out of the 'puppy' stage. I think (at least for Thor) that 7 months is the magic age. He has been doing super duper with potty training, he is sleeping through the whole night, listening to my comands very well, and life is so great when they behave. I hope I didn't just jinks myself, but I just wanted to let anyone out there that is feeling like banging their head into a sement wall that it will get easier!!! I just went through a really really hard time with Thor, and I didn't think I could handle him. But give it time and patience and it will be okay!!!! Good luck to all the new puppy owners and to everyone that may be going through a rough patch! Hannah |

| That is kind of funny that you mention 7 months because that is around the time that the potty training seemed to click for Roxie. It did become easier for me at that point on most issues. I could read her better and she understood me better. Now, she does have her little moments of "I am going to grab that item and make you chase me even though I know I shouldn't" moments, but overall at now almost 10 months the hard work has paid off!

| thank you thank you for this post. you are right it can get very hard trying to deal with puppy...i think that we all needed that lille encouragemet to just stay with it and know that in time it will pay off. So thank you and I am so happy that your Thor is starting to behave and listen more. When they are puppies they just dont care and they do what they want....and while it is cute it can be hectic!

| Yep! That six/seven month age is amazing, everything starts to click for them, especially the potty training. 9 months is EVEN BETTER! Tinkerbell is 100% potty trained and such a good girl. |

| This is SUCH good news! Susan is almost 6 mos old and is just starting to act like MAYBE she might be interested in being potty trained. She's starting to get that preference for going outside that my other dogs almost seemed to have been born with. So for now it's more of an issue of how well I'm trained to take her out. At least she's not going out for 30-45 minutes and then coming in and making a mess. One more month! Can't wait! |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Thanks that is so good to hear! I have an 18 week old yorkie pup who is pretty good with potty training on the pads but wakes up at 5 am even if we go to bed at midnight. She is in a playpen next to my bed I was thinking of putting her in bed with me as she has learned to use the carpeted stairs my husband made for her to get up and down. I am afraid though that she will get up in the night and I won't hear her and my 8 year old pom sleeps under the bed and doesn't particularly like her. She also is chewing any wood or wall she can find even if we spray with bitter apple and or vinegar. |

| Whew!!! Yippee, 5 weeks to go!! No, really Bentley has been pretty good for the most part. Potty Training is a test but he is just starting to seem like he is interested in getting someone to let him out instead of just stop and pee where he's at. He still chews on EVERYTHING, gets into EVERYTHING and picks and chooses when he wants to know his commands but at least I have Wickett (my schnauzer) to help keep him occupied! They spend the day tearing each other up instead of my house!!
