Is this Okay?

Wookie is now being crate trained, and is doing extremely well. I'm so proud of my Wookie. His crate is just big enough for him to sleep and play in and lounge. He is doing ok with holding his pee and poo in. But he also sleeps there at night. Is it okay to keep him there during the day while i'm gone an also sleep in the crate at night? Or is that bad training?

I think that if it is fairly small it is unfair to him to leave him in there all day and all night. Maybe a Xpen would be more desirable. He's needs room to bounce around a play, but also stay safe. I would just feel bad to leave him in there for that long. Good luck with your training!

If you are crate training Wookie, then you want to keep him in the crate because if he is in a xpen or allowed to roam around wouldn't he find a place too pee??

From what I have read when you are crate training then they should be in the crate. I would think that until he is housebroken the crate would be the best place for him when you are not around to watch him.

Lots of dog owners use Crates. Mainly at night.
Woody (1yrs tomorrow) has slept in his crate since the first day I had him.
But only at night.
I give him and my other 2 older yorkies full access to the Den.
When I'm at work Woody stays in my Laundry room. He still has accidents.
Good luck, I do wish my 2 girls were crate trained. I wouldn't have had so many problems house breaking them.

Personally I would only keep him in the crate at night when it's time to sleep. You ought to consider purchasing a play/exercise pen where he has enough room to walk around, play, eat his food/water, use the potty on a pee pee pad etc. I just bought my baby one and it's panels are 36" high and 24" wide and it's plenty big for him! He loves it! I bet Wookie would be thrilled if you gave him some more space to keep himself busy in!
