| What should I do.... I'm helpless Okay I need help... Roxy is going to be 14 weeks tomorrow and I just don't know what to do anymore... She was going good on the pad no problem I would wake up at 245am take her to poop and pee... I wake up at 6am every morning I take her out to pee and poop she was doing fine I mean a few accidents here and there of course... She is left in a Pet yard in my kitchen, now my apt is small so my living room/kitchen combine only thing closed off is the bedroom so she stays in the kitchen with her bed,pee pad, food and toys. Lately what she's been doing is pulling apart her pee pads. I just don't know what to do anymore. I come home at 12pm lunch and she hadnt pulled it apart yet its when I leave at 12 and return at 415 when I come home to the pee pad ripped apart.. I was thinking of starting the crate training but I know that she can't hold it. What should I do. If I leave her in the crate she will be in there from 7am-12 until I get home to take her out to do her business then back in until 415 when I get home again to take her out. I know she is bored and has nothing to do but I'm becoming helpless I don't know what to do anymore.. I have 2 jobs my second job is only about 3 hours or so. So today before I went I was so upset that I left her in the crate she went pee pee in there now she sleeps in that crate with her bed but when I left her I didn't leave her bed in there with her. Not to mention eats her poops... I've been giving her deter but it doesn't seem to be working :-( So my mess is pee pad and poop What should I do??

| aw poor thing- maybe she is bored? dogs are usually destructive because they have nothing else to do- i would not crate her during the day- that is too long- What about buying Bitter Apple and spraying the pads with it to deter her from chewing them? |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Are you taking her out to pee? If so, when you go home at 12, do you take her out then? Where do you put the pee pad when you are home? Maybe move the pen to that area. Don't put her crate in the pen. I know it is hard working and having a young pup. Good Luck!

| I'm gonna try the bitter apple thing hopefully that works... No I dont take her out because she was so young and because of the cold but I'm starting to think that its time. My boyfriends says to leave her in the kennel/crate for the time that I am not home. But I just feel bad doing that... But it feels like I have no other choice but to do that...

| i started charlie out in the crate..i felt bad at first but then I got use to it. I rather he is safe than to hurt himself. It was also a quicker way to potty train him. He was 80% potty train in almost 2 weeks. He still goes in his crate when I am not home. It is big enough for him to move around and play with his toys. One time, i had to go out of town for 13 hrs. I came back and he was fine. He bark and pee once in his crate..I can't believe he held his poop until i got home and took him out. Of course he got rewarded for being good and got to stay longer out longer that night. He sleeps in his crate too. |

| I would try the cloth reusable pads from personallypaws.com. Also, take the dog on a good 20-30 minute walk before you leave to tire her/him out. I would also try getting a Kong toy, stuffing it with chicken or cheese, put it in the freezer overnight or a few hours, and right before you leave give her/him the toy and it will keep the dog busy for a little while anyway. If that doesn't work you might have to crate train. They learn to love their crates. You'd still have to walk the dog first and give the kong toy in the crate. |

| I only put him in there for long extended hours when i have to. When I first started crate training (potty training) charlie he was in there for most of the day. He was 4months at the time. I got him in December. I only take him out to potty outside, feed, play for 30 minute, potty again (if they need to) and then back in the crate. He stays in the crate for 4-5 hrs..then I take him out again to do the same routine..then back in the crate for another 4-5..sometimes 6 hrs. He was pretty good..in about a week he learn to like his crate and that when he comes out it is to potty only. You mention that you are gone from 7-12..that should be ok to put her in the crate for that time period. charlie goes to potty at 5:00-5:30am and is in his crate until 11:30-12 before his next potty break and playtime. Charlie only have a few toys..he loves his stuff animal so I put that in there with him along with his kong toy stuff with treat. I don't put anything else in the crate during the daytime except for a blanket. It is good to put them on a schedule so that they will get use to it since you are working. Here is charlie's schedule..We do go off the schedule sometimes for potty depending on how much water he consumes..it is getting hot here so he has been drinking a lot of water and has been wanting to pee a lot..he will bark to let me know.. 5-6am: potty, feeding, and playtime (let him roam around the kitchen and living room while i make coffee) 6am-12pm: crate 12-1: potty, feeding (he usually don't eat at this time b/c of his big breakfast), playtime, potty (don't usually go) 1- 5:30pm or 6: potty, feeding 6-7:30pm: crate b/c it is dinner for his mommy and daddy...I don't feed food after 7pm..water is 9pm this way he will last all night. 7:30pm-9pm: playtime 9-9:30pm: crate b/c shower time for mommy 9:30-11pm: playtime, and last potty break for the day |

| maybe give her a veal bully stick, when their that young it takes them a few days to a week to eat the veal stick. I found it kept Chelsea busy for hours.

| Thank you so much newproudmom... I'm going to try your just change it a little for me Only thing with me is that I can't be home for an hour at 12 I only stay there for 30 mins... Today was my first day with her in the kennel I just wanted to try it out and see how she likes it.. She had an accident in there just pee so I took her outside for about 15-20mins but she didnt go.. When I came back in and sat with her in the pen she went poops n pee on the pad I'm like "Oh yeah great now you aim for the pad" LOL!!! Then I started giving her food with my hand and girlfriend ate it all LOL!!! My boyfriend says eventually she will learn and now that since she is aiming for the pad we can move pad towards door and then out door until we hit grass so she can get use to it I just felt so horrible hearing her cry when I leave all I can say is "Bye Roxy Mommy loves you" Thanks again for all the help I really appreciate it.. This is my first Yorkie/Dog so I know now that its a process....

| i think you should go back to the pee pads- ti's really quite long to be crating her and she can't hold her pee taht long so she is going to pee in her crate no matter what- she needs to be older before being crated for that length of time. |

| 14 weeks is still pretty young ... little pups can't hold their urine for very long and no matter how diligent you are about traing if you leave them longer than say 3 hours they are going to pee The ripping of the papers is a sign that she's bored make sure she's got lots of toys a radio or TV sometimes helps and if the ripping continues get the washable pads but keep at it ... soon she'll be ablem to hold it better one secret to pee pad training if your dog is the least bit food trainable meaning if they will do anything for treats ...if you catch her peeing do a Pee ... cheer for her and give her a treat then whenever she plays or wakes up from a nap or in the morning put her on her pad and say Come on Pee Pee Soon you'll have her peeing on command

| She actually does do well with the pee pee pads.. Every morning when we wake she does pee and poop on pad. Its leaving her around the house that I have a problem with.. Pet yard was taken away for the crate training. I have a radio on for her also a lamp so she does have some light in the apt... Toys she has galore... I actually just bought her some more chewing toys to keep her entertained in the crate...
