doggy diapers Is anyone using diapers for their yorkie? Emma is about 3 lbs at 5 months and is clueless about even paper training. I'm wondering if anyone else uses doggy diapers and/or have any information about them. I have no problem with changing her diapers if it helps keep peace over her messing. Thank you, Sammer

| Well, I just started using the bellybands for my rescue Gizmo. Doesn't seem like he was ever trained. He would go outside and pee, but would come in and pee, and pee and pee somemore. Mostly just little dribbles, but was getting on all our nerves. Spent most of the day cleaning up after him. Decided for all our sanity to try the "diapers". It has made the biggest difference. You can walk around and not worry about stepping in anything. We still take him out with the others, but the band goes right back on. Hopefully, in time, with patience, he'll be trained, but, until then...............diapers!!!

females Hi Kathy, thanks for the reply. I've read a lot on here about belly bands for males and it seems to be an "acceptable" practice. I wonder if a diaper for a female is ok. She's certainly not getting the concept of papers (or pee pads, or papers/pee pads sprayed with scent). A friend of mine has a friend who deals with dogs with problems and she suggested I put pads/papers all around the house. It's not my house so that is not a possibility. Like a child, I'm sure Emma is sensing the tension around here and how her messes are adding to it; which in turn probably isn't helping her training issues. I'm trying to find my own place to live, so perhaps the diapers would be the answer until then. Sammer Does anyone else have any other constructive ideas about this? thanks!

I used that for Zoe when she was younger. I would still probably take a pair with me if we were visiting. I will say that the hole for her tail was a little too big so if she pooped... it would still wind up on the floor but she didn't really like going with it on so it did help with housebreaking but you still also need to be consistent and take her out a lot otherwise she'll just get used to going in the diaper.

I went to the grocery store and bought a package of small baby diapers for my little girl for her first heat. I cut a little place for the tail and let me tell you, it worked like a charm! I just took her diaper off when she needed to go out. She never tried to take it off. It also trained her to go to the door and sit when she needed to go out because that was just where I always took her diaper off. So, when I have another puppy I will definitely use these for potty training when the puppy is not in a crate or outside. I only have females, and this worked fantastic. I was so impressed with myself over it.
