| Pottying Outside I finally got Izzy to go potty outside and he also will let me know when he has to go. When he has to go he will walk to the door and put his nose on his leash (which is hanging by the door), then I take him out. Sounds great right? Well, the problem is, if I am not in the room I dont know if he needs to go out. He will go through the motions and will just stand there until I come out to see what he is doing. How do I get him to bark or make some noise so that I know he has to pee? He will bark at anything else but will not make a peep...he will just stand there and wait until I see him...lol. And will have this look like "hey man...i gotta go, whats up?" Its cute but sometimes not so because he's had a couple of accidents.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Eventually mine would run to ME and back to the door... Some suggest hanging bells and teaching to use those...

| Since he's alrighty smart enough to go to the door and tap the leash when he has to go, you should get him one of those potty bells that hang on the door handle. Instead of tapping his leash, he can tap on the bells to let you know he has to do his business.

| We taught Bailey to tap a service bell - its louder than the hanging bells. During training - just take his paw and tap the bell - eventually, he will tap it himself. Good luck!
