How do I get the oder off of my tile floor when I have reason to believe substance may have penetrated the grout?

a 50/50 mix of water and vinegar works wonders. It cleans well and removes odors.

There is a sealer that will seal the grout.... that's the reason I have my xpens on linoleum remnants in my sunroom... the grout in there isn't sealed and I don't want the urine to get in the grout in there.

I assume once you get the smell out you can seal the grout... (the water and vinegar solution sounds good).

The vinegar solution is the best at removing deep down stains/smells. It's cheap as heck to use as well. I buy a big old gallon for like $3 and mix it down. It's very good as a regular household cleaner if you want to go Green.

I have a question about the whole vinegar-water cleaner. If I use that to clean my tiles, will the tiled room smell like vinegar afterward? Or dos it just clean it and then doesn't smell? Just curious. I've never tried that before. Do you have to scrub it in or just let it soak in the grout???

On a 50/50 solution, I don't know, but usually a cup(give or take) of vinegar to a bucket of water does wonders for your tile floor, does not smell and cleans your floor to a shine, it is recommended to remove stains.In case of vinegar smell you can always rinse with water

Great! Thanks! I will try it this weekend. I was going to buy a steam vac or something to clean the tile in Wall-E's pen because it smells like urine and regular cleaning products only seem to mask the urine smell for a day or two before it starts smelling again , but I will definitely try this first! It's soooo cost effective, I can't pass it up. Thanks again for the info.

The vinegar smell dissapates very fast. If you like you can also buy some essential oils and put a drop in the mixture you mix up for a nice smell.

I use tile and grout cleaner. It just boils the grime away. Put your babies outside first though!
