My yorkie, Haylei, is 3 years old and when I first got her I didn't crate train her (which was a mistake). I just kept putting her on the puppy pads until she started to use them. She uses them sometimes, but when I get up in the mornings or while I am gone, I find places where she has peed in the floor. I HAVE to get her trained somehow and I don't know if it is too late or if there is any way to make her stop peeing in the floor! Please help!

I don't think it's too late to retrain her. Are you able to take her outside to potty? If so, you might give that a try. I just started taking KaCee outside and she is doing so much better than she was on potty pads. If not, I would crate train as soon as possible. With A.J, I'd take him to potty first thing, if he went, then he got to play and wander around for a while, then back into his crate for 30-45 mins. Then I'd take him out to potty, if he went, he got out for awhile, if not, back in the crate for 10 min. or so, then back out to potty. Hope this helps! Try searching for crate training too, there are lots of threads about it!

It is NEVER too late to train your dog. If you need to potty train again, start over from the beginning with whichever method you've choosen, just like you would with a puppy. Stay consistent and patient.

I agree 100% with Julia and AprilLove. Start over at the beginning and work slowly to retrain. Be confident in your ability as a trainer and in your dog's ability to learn so that your dog will have confidence in both you and himself. Remember lots of praise and rewards. Good Luck!!

Yeah I don't think it's ever too late, it may just be a bit more challenging if she is stuck in her ways. Just be very persistant. That's the key to potty training, you have to watch her constantly and tell her no if you see her peeing inside and take her directly outside and it is often good to use a code word every time like "potty" or "go potty" or "outside." Good luck!!
