Yorkie Lover Donating Member | We don't give Greenies as they can cause them to choke if they bite too big of a piece....we have heard too many bad things about them from this site!! This is just my opinion...

| I have read all the postings on Greenies, but I still feed them to Edie. She definitely chews them. We only give them to her twice a week. I think for a young Yorkie, you should be careful, and observe how they eat them. |

| Even after all the horror stories & negative reports, we still give Toto greenies but only after getting advise from our vet. He credits them for her beautiful teeth! She flatly refuses hard food so it's the only hard thing that she chews on. He says that if he were not certain that we never take our eyes off her, he probably wouldn't advise it but we watch her 24/7 and especially when she is having her "treat"! She was two last July and has never had a speck on any of her teeth!

| Bettyeanne That's funny how your Baby hates dry food...mine doesn't care for wet food. How are little angels differ so!

| I'm actually using the Royal Canin puppy myself. I thought that was one of the best, but then I read a lot on this site. Guess I was wrong! LOL I actually just ordered chicken soup food online (wet and dry). I'm gonna try that. I think I'm noticing Baby is itching and scratching. I know she doesn't have fleas. Maybe she's allergic to the corn? When I switch, I'll see what happens. I really hope she likes the Chicken Soup!! If she does, I'll sure thank lots of people for turning me onto it. I'd never even heard about it before!! I thought it was just a book!

| I will not feed greenies because I had a bad experience with them. We gave our little guy a greenie every morning to chew on while we were gone. We started giving them before he was 6 months but he was over 5 lbs. Well one morning my husband dropped the greenie before we got him into his pen and he took off with it (the dog not my husband) and we were trying to catch him because we were late for church. So, like he does anytime he thinks were gonna take something away, he chewed and swallowed it real fast. We found out later he swallowed it whole (one of those little toothbrush things). That after noon he started acting really weird like he couldn't walk and he had a tummy ache. We gave him a little pepto to settle his stomach and he seemed fine. The next day at lunch he pooped out the entire greenie completely whole. It had not digested at all. We are just very lucky it didn't cause a blockage. After that and a little research we decided greenies weren't the right choice for our dog. I think most dogs can eat them as long as they are not gulpers or have extremely strong jaws that can break off too big of pieces. I would just be really careful and wait til your pup is a little older.

| Shelby and I love greenies She loves how they taste and I love how they clean her teeth and make her breath smell good. I have never left her unattended with one and after reading all of the bad news lately, I limit her intake to a few minutes each night while I hold it. |

| To answer your question, it would be best to talk to your vet, and if your vet gives the ok, regarding greenies/age, then read all of the information pros and cons and make an educated decision. I only give greenies when I am within sight of my three. I have never had a bad experience with them, but I tend to err in the way of caution. |

| Ponyup, boy are you ever lucky. That swallowed greenie could have been a disaster, Logan must have his own personal angel watching out after him! |

| I give Twinkie greenies & she is just over 2.5lbs & have given her them since I got her. Twinkie is not a gulper and doesn't even wear the greenie down - it's funny you can leave her with a greenie for an hour and all you'll see on it when you take it away are some pathetic teeth marks! Do be careful if you do decide to feed greenies, I don't think they are meant for all dogs to have.
