| Gov't Questions w/ breeding... I have a good question for the breeders on here. Im thinking about breeding Sassy again. I bred her once before to have a daughter out of her (which I got and she's a blessing). But we are thinking of breeding her again her next heat (she already skipped a heat). My breeder checked her out waaay before I bred her and she's healthy as a rock and the right size etc etc. My question is for when you sell the pups. Do you have to claim the money that you sell the pups for on your income taxes? Does the gov't tax you for the money you are making? If so, how do I go about doing all of this the legal way? I live in California and a lot of people out here are "sue happy". I just want to cover myself. Thank you!!! |

| I would think you wouldn't have to claim it unless you have multiple dogs and always have puppies for sale. I knew a lady that did have lots of dogs, and never claimed them on her taxes.

| taxes Ask the person preparing your taxes. Keep all your receipts for expenses and stud fees and deduct it from your puppy sales and see if its claimable income. |

| I would ask your tax consultant, most likely they would set up an agrigulture type filing.
