My furkids Donating Member | I have a question I am not a breeder nor do I plan on breeding. Sadie is 3yrs old and Lillie is 14 months. Sadie just had a heat about 4 months ago. Her heats have been every 9 months so she really wasn't due for another 4 or 5 months. Lillie just came into her first heat. Could this push Sadie into an earlier heat? I KNOW I should have had them spayed before they came in heat. I am planning on spaying them next month. I just hope that having them spayed after coming into heat doesn't increase their risk for cancer. I have been very nervous about having them done. Also, Sadie tends to be dog aggressive. would having her spayed help with this. Thank you.

| My girls will tend to all come in heat around the same time as each other. It's common for this to occur when they are together. |

| Yes, having them spayed oft times reduces agression. The surgery has to be a bit more intrusive after they have had their first heat as the organs are larger but does not increase the risk of cancer. I would definitely speak with my vet to find out the best time to spay your gals so you can be one big happy family.

| Yes, one female can bring another female into Season. It seems around this house it's never ending....one, then another, then another... Having the spayed could stop the aggression, it's never a guarantee. I have 2 females that are pets, spayed before they ever came into Season.....however, the still fight. Never know when one will tick off the other. I've had to break up fights in the middle of the night just because one got too close to me on the bed........

My furkids Donating Member | Thank you everyone who responded. I really wish I had had them done BEFORE they ever came in heat. But, as I said I am really nervous about having them put under. I have recently changed vets and, trust I made the right decision. All her surgeries are done with laser. They even gave me a breakdown of the cost. I do plan on having them done (one at a time) as soon as they are out of heat. Thank you all again for answering my questions.
