Looking for Larger Yorkie I was wondering if any breeders specialized in larger Yorkies? Ours is around 9lbs and we have come to appreciate everything about him. We are considering adding a brother or sister since Bailey is about 15 months old right now. Thanks, Samc and Bailey

How refreshing to hear this instead of asking for a SMALL/TINY yorkie! I bet bailey is beautiful-- we had two larger yorkies so many years ago (wish to goodness they were still here!) and now have Gypsy Rose 10 lbs (although we were amazed when she did grow to that size from a "little mouse!")... we then decided on a sister for her and as we wanted one not any larger (we go away a lot) we decided on Gizzie Chavi who is now 4 and a half pounds at almost 1 yr old.... she's tough and we adore her but we too prefer the bigger yorkies!! Sorry can't help as I live in Wales! Best of luck finding a sibling for Bailey! Ana xx

Very good luck in your search - we found Duncan in an animal rescue often the bigger ones are handed in as they are not tiny enough

I don't have an answer to your question, but is it wonderful to hear someone say they want a larger Yorkie. My Oscar is 7 months old and 8 lbs, and I wouldn't trade him for 10 tiny Yorkies. Some people consider the larger size a flaw because it doesn't meet the breed "standard", but I think the larger dogs are a throwback to what the breed used to be. Good luck in your search, and let us know what happens!!!
