Has anyone gotten their Yorkie from..... SV Quality pups in Brooklyn NY? I had been in contact w/the man from there and he assured me that he has the best pups around. Never made the trip in to see them because I found a good breeder closer to me but I was just curious if it was everything he said it was or just another puppy mill!

| I use to rave about Ivan and S&V Quality Canines ... but I was sadly mistaken. Let me tell you my story and hopefully it will help you make your decision. I bought 3 dogs from S&V Quality Canines: 1. Codie, a male Maltese 2. Katie, a female Yorkie 3. Tia, a female Yorkie ALL three have had health problems. Codie had severe luxated patella in his rear left leg at a little over 1 year old and Ivan REFUSED to pay for anything or even help. Codie had to have surgery. Also, Codie has very poor gums (they sometimes bleed when he eats hard food). Katie (rest in peace my little angel) was diagnosed with SEVERE kidney disease. She only lived a little over 1 year. Tia had a bad case of coccidia and almost died the first night I brought her home. In addition to my dogs, my friend Fran bought her Yorkie, Sammi, from Ivan. Sammi had an extreme case of liver failure. Sadly, she did not make it -- she was only 2 years old. RIP little Sammi girl. I would NEVER recommend anyone buy from S&V Quality Canines again. I am so sorry that I ever recommended them in the first place. Please think twice before buying your baby there. I wish you the best of luck in your search for a baby.

Let me first say how sorry I am about your experience. I did almost go there to purchase a puppy. I went to see a yorkie that was advertised in my local paper when I got there I asked a bunch a questions and then the next day I called her back w/some more questions and she told me that she would not sell me her pups because I asked to many questions. I was upset but then I figured she did me a favor. So I contact what I now know is Puppy Petite/Puppy boutique and SV Quality pups. SV made it sound like they were selling golden puppies, the best around, he assured me that if I went and looked at his competition and then came and saw him I would be able to tell for myself that he was the best around. I never did go because I found some great home breeders that were not afraid to answer any and all my questions and got my baby girl from a wonderful lady. I was just really curious if his pups were as good as he said and if they were a place to keep in mind for the future.!

I bought my beautiful baby lazaro from there 1 year ago and have not had 1 PROBLEM. He is 14 months old. A friend of mine recommended S and V, she bought i believe 2 puppies from there and they are fine Also, if you search yorkietalk.com you can find some past posts about this place that were pretty positive. Hey, I'm sure even the best of breeders or pet stores have their share of sick pups. If you need anything else please pm me so we can discuss and dont be discouraged by previous posters!!

Please do not buy your yorkie from a pet store or broker. Do your research on the best way to obtain a nice quality yorkie. A good place to start doing a little research is the YTCA website.

Off the wall - S & V Quality Canines Reviews I am a little wary about listening to someone who is putting the same negative review of a puppy place but under different user names. It makes me wonder is this some type of personal grudge or vendetta? If so, they need to take some type of anger management counseling. I think this site is suppose to be for dog lovers to share quality info with each other. Not for bashing. As for myself, my family & I have bought in total, six dogs over the years from Quality Canines and intend on continuing to use them. It is a storefront, however the owners are the breeders themselves, who love their pups, are very knowledgeable and love what they do. And it shows when you walk in their immaculate store and see their well taken care of pups who are generally healthy. Plus, the customer service extends well long after the purchase (which is hard to find), as I have called them many times for advice. These breeders have been around for a long time, which is why my family has and continues to use them. All of our dogs have been active and healthy until old age. Given the strange nature of these reviews, I think people need to contact and see the place and judge for themselves. Beware of obessive rantings!!!

BUT - I have to think YOU are affiliated with them in some way to come here and go after people. Its one thing for someone to buy not knowing where the dogs came from - but to knowingly support Puppy mills by endorsing pet stores is a different story. You seem to be going out of your way to make them 'seem' ethical - when in reality - they're a pet store - SELLING DOGS FOR PROFIT ONLY - and you can just bet they've bought dogs from Puppy Mills.
