| QUestions on early labor? I also asked this at bottom of another thread, but would like a response asap. We are at day 61 and her temp last night was was high 98.9 now we are sitting at 98.1, she isnt eating and is not really doing anything but resting. I figure we are not quite there yet since there is no digging or panting, but I was wondering if it is normal for them just to lay there. It has been more than a year since my last litter with another bitch, so I am nervous. Her weight also seems to have shifted lower has anyone seen this before?

| Sounds like she's getting ready. You will notice a drop in her stomach as she gets close. Pups will get stiller and mom will be off her food. Temps are usually lower in the morning anyway but keep an eye on things. You can have her lat on your chest and rest your hands on her sides, if she's in early labor you'll be able to feel the contractions in this position.

| I am feeling a bit of tightness here and there with her. SHe sniffs her food a bit and walks away without touching it. So I am figuring we are nearing the finish line. Anything I should definatlly notice before hand? I have my vet and breeder mentor on call so every one is all hands on deck, but last minute advice for this group is more than welcome.

| Keep a close eye on her today. When she looses her mucus plug get her into her whelping box cause it's time to go.

| still nothin yet... Monroe is acting very lazy, gets up to wander around her area (we have to keep her seperate from the others right now) sniffs at her food, then walks back to her little box we have set up and just lays there. Her belly has definatly shifted from where top side you could see lots of belly, to much lower, now from the top she doesnt look close to as big. Plus we have bits of colostrum(sp) I found that out last night. As far as a plug, I have not seen anything big, but bits of mucus here and there, nothing bloody or anything though. It is so diffrent from the last time I guess in some ways like us, diffrent dog, diffrent pregnancy.

| There here!!! so 20 minutes after I go to bed last night...Monroe began to push, so I got no sleep. But we did get 3 very healthy baby boy puppies. It was a long and stressfull night and there were a few moments where we thought things were going to turn out bad. But all and all, things ended well and all 3 were delivered by mom with a little help form us. I will post pics later...btw is it unusual to have only male pups, I was very surprised.
