| where to find contracts? My male will be a year old this week and I want to get started on the paper work for breeding him. I want to make sure I have all the legal stuff in order before he is 18 months old. I plan on breeding him when he is around 18 months. I need to know how to draw up the contracts so nothing is left out and I am not in trouble somewhere down the line. What should I ask price wise? I know most people have their own males but there are a couple of people around here that need a male. He is AKC, three lbs, black and gold ,vet checked, very good natured. Everyone I have talked to say $500.00. Thanks in advance for any help.

| Maybe you could look at a few contracts from other stud owners, and then fmake any desired changes. Make sure you cover everything. Such as Do you guarantee a litter, How many puppies constitutes a litter, most say more than one, but some say just one. Do you count puppies that are still born as part of the litter who pays for the vet checks, what will they be checked for if there are transportation costs involved, who pays for them What things you want the female tested for or treated for before breeding How many times they will tie. Has your male had bile acid test and checked for luxating patella, or any other hereditary faults. If the female doesn't take, do you refund the money or give her a free service what if she doesn't take a second time? Those are the things I can think of. |
