| Question to breeders about puppy weight Sorry if this is not the right place to post this question. I am going to look at a little girl next week ...the breeder said that she is tiny, will be lucky to make 3 pounds, has a square body which I am assuming means short and cobby? So here is my question. This puppy was 9 weeks old yesterday and weighs 14 1/2 ounces. Is this small or average for 9 weeks? Is 9 weeks to young to determine accurately what size she will be? Her sire is 3 pounds but I forgot to ask the size of her dam as she is not pictured on her site. She is letting her go at 11 weeks. Is this early for a tiny one? The breeder is a 10 minute drive from me, so no shipping needed. I am looking for a baby with a babydoll face who will be about the same size as my Peanut who is 3 pounds, 7 1/2 inches tall and 8 inches long. Would it make more sense for me to look for an older puppy or young adult? By the way, my babies are spayed and neutered, I am not a breeder hence the dumb questions. LOL!! Thanks everyone.

| I got Lacy at 10.5 weeks and she weighed 15.2 ounces....she is now about 18 ounces and is 15 weeks (1.2 lbs She has a "baby doll face" and also has a square body. (short legs and small head and body)..They say she will be about 2.5 to 3 lbs but you can never be sure, she could have a growth spurt and be bigger than that...she probably won't as she is pretty tiny, but I will attach some pictures... | I've been told 3x's their body weight at 8 weeks or 2x's their body weight at 12 weeks. She sounds like she will be 3-31/2 lbs full grown. |

| You can never know for sure...If you really want a smaller one with a certain look, get an older puppy so that you can pretty much see what he/she will look like when grown.

| By the "growth chart" 14oz @ 9 weeks = between 2 and 2.5 pounds. But you never can be 100% sure at that age. |
