You are much too kind...it is a nice start to my day...but if I believed my "press" I would be in a world of trouble..LOL LOL LOL I have learned alot and know alot of people who have learned alot...I can always ask for input from them if need be...so rarely are my posts 100% my opinions, they are backed by many years experince of alot of breeders.. it takes a "village" to breed Yorkies correctly.

Thank you all. I've not been at this as long as Pat, doesn't make me younger than she, just started later.....

The information that I pass on, just like Pat said, is not totally my own, it's a culmunation of info that I've gathered from others that have more knowledge and experience than I have. If I don't have an answer to something, I turn to one of these people. When we stop learning, we stop growing.

Love that "When we stop learning, we stop growing" and so very true.
I try to pass on what I learn too ...If I Don't know the answer..
I'll try to find it for them or guide them to a person who can help them....

This is soooooo very pleasant to read!!! I appreciate this. I have learned so much more from reading what you "sharing" breeders offer from your experiences. I think this needs to be the YT slogan...."It takes a village to breed Yorkies correctly."..so everyone can feel comfortable asking questions!
I cringe when I open some of these threads with questions pertaining to breeding and this just makes me want to smile and skip to the kitchen for more coffee

..Same here it's very refreshing.
It's the whole point of YT to help and not put down.
You can not learn if you don't ask.

This is my first post on YT. I am a new member, but I have checked out the site for about a week and I'm hooked! I have read MANY slanderous remarks on this site about breeding and they have really discouraged me from posting anything or asking any questions. I'm glad I found a thread that helped someone who wants to breed and not sent them away crying. Everyone has to start somewhere....it might as well be here

I don't think the answer to some new breder posts is meant as slanderous.....What "I" think is many get upset at potential new breeders that haven't done their homework and post on YT "I'm a new yorkie owner and I'd like to breed my yorkie cause it's cute and my family/friends want one" Then asks all kinds of questions about heat cycles, what they should be looking for, how many times do they allow them to mate" These type of questions reveal that the poster doesn't have a clue, hasn't studied and plan to do this without considering all the ramifications that they may encounter.

Maybe, they are asking those questions because they are doing their reserch here and want a helpfull hand or a mentor. I've seen some pretty harsh responses to questions that to me seem harmless...If a person is intrested in breeding where are they suppose to go if they can't come here?

Welcome! There are several experienced breeders that are gracious about sharing their knowledge. I posted on another thread that I used to be almost afraid to admit I was considering breeding. But I did start realizing no one was really against new breeders -- just breeders who breed before they read and learn and consider the responsibility. So, now I just ask away. If someone does want to slam, I have decided not to take it personally. Those comments are usually directed more at their own bad experiences and not the poster themself. We can't learn if we don't ask. I also learn from the questions others ask. So, again -- Welcome to YT -- from another "hooked" member!

I agree, I don't think we get mad at the poster simply their lack of education. If your going to do something as important as bringing life into this world isn't it worth the time it takes to get education first? I must admit that though I'm new it does urk me when someone gets on and says Oh I think she's pregnant, teach me quick. We need to go into this in a thoughtful and patient manner. Get your education first so that you do no harm. Dad always says that anything worth doing is worth doing well. Why not strive to be the best breeders that we can be?

Welcome to YT Big Momma,
Feel free to ask all of the questions you want. Most people here wont jump on you if they know you are really trying to learn. There are always the exceptions of course and you just have to learn to live with the fact that there is one in every crowd. We are all here to learn and there isnt anywhere that I have found where you are going to learn more than you can here. This is definately a place where you get answers from people that have had hands on experience and that is better than any book. Soon you will be hooked just like the rest of us.
