Hello, I only know what my vet told me when Monday was vomiting white and yellowish stuff ... she had nothing in her stomach so she was putting out what was in there ... itz not too good for the stomach lining .... my vet gave her CARAFATE and told me to give her 1/8 of a PEPCID for a week ... it worked ... however, you should definitely ask your vet first... Good Luck on the new babies coming along .... keep an eye on the mom ... (BTW, I heard that cold cuts are not good for dogs b/c of the fat and sodium content) ... just a suggestion! Debbie Ten Things You Should Never Give Your Pet 5. Ham and other salty meats and foods are very dangerous to pets. In addition to being high in fat, they are also very salty which can cause serious stomach ache or pancreatitis.

| A new mommy! All should be fine! ;) I'd say the vomit you saw was mostly bile. This to ME sounds pretty common and I'd consider it "normal". It sounds like she just had an upset stomach...have you ever been pregnant yourself? If she's of a healthy age to be having puppies (most ideal- after age 2) and is in good shape otherwise and the vet thinks the puppies are doing well, then I wouldn't worry as best you can. The "average" whelping period is between 58 and 65 days. Day 63 is most common though. It's not too uncommon for first time mothers to go a little sooner than this. If you're ever concerned to the point of insanity, I'd go to the vet and have him test for fetal heartbeats. If all is well....just wait, that's all you can do! I'd probably cut back on the canned food personally, although loads of things could've caused the vomiting. It's just that giving your dog(s) canned food (there are better brands out there now though) is like giving your child Doritos for breakfast and Cake for dinner. There's really not much good for them in it! Congratulations, keep us posted! |

| re my sick little girl hi all i called my vet this am and he basically brushed me off which upset me to no end, i feel he is the reason i lost one pup this past yr already and i just couldnt deal witrh him anymore . so i called a vet that my friend recommended and we took dixie up there he ran blood tests and all did a fantastic work and all her results were great, he said however she has a case of worms that thought that might be her prob so he gave me wormer med to give her and he says we definately have 2 pupies and not to be surprised if more cuz they can hide. he was so great showed us the xray and all. he siad some could be just normal pregnancy but if she isnt lots better on monday to call him or if she gets worse he said im available 24/7. he was great i left there feeling so much better and she hasnt vomited since before 12noon today so she is feeling some better ty all for being so great i appreciate all ur help..........love you all and this site thank god for you all!!!!.....

| Is it time Cindy, Did you take her temperature? Take her temp every morn and eve to determine her norm. When the temp drops below 100 degrees, you have 12 to 24 hours before stage 2 labor. My Roxie throws up before stage 2 labor, it empties the tummy so the body can get down to the business of delivering pups. Good luck! Tami (ladyhawk yorkies) |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Glad that she's doing better. Just a suggestion...I would NOT feed your girl ham or ANY pork products. Pork can make dogs sick. I made that mistake once and my girl was sick for 2 days. Have you tried boiled chicken? My girls absolutely love it. Boil a whole chicken and debone. Mix shredded chicken, broth and a little rice. They'll eat it all day if I let them. Don't forget to have your calcium supplements on hand since nursing moms need the extra help so they don't get eclampsia. There are many websites on eclampsia so please read up on them. My girl got eclampsia her last litter and I just about lost her.
