Three days ago she was licking herself a lot, and he was doing a lot of sniffing. I didn't notice swelling then. today when I bathed her I noticed the swelling. This is her first heat and I don't wanyt her bred this time. I have been watching for blood spots, but haven't seen any. | |

| She will start bleeding in a few days . Mine never bleed at the beginning of swelling just few days later . If you don't want to breed her , it would be better to keep them separate now . |

| The cycle lasts about 3 weeks...so you can start counting from the time you noticed her licking a lot. The bleeding will come next. Then when that stops (or just about stops and is lighter in color) is when she will be willing to breed. The bleeding can get quite messy ... you may want to buy disposable doggie diapers from Wal-Mart. Males will come from like a 3 mile radius....keep a CLOSE eye on her. It is a pain, but I keep mine completely seperated during this time...not even any play time together....it only takes a few seconds. |
