Introducing Grace's pups to Angel Ok, now Grace's pups are 9 days old. They are in a play pen in the living room, around the family & the noise. And around Angel, my hopefully-4-weeks-pregnant female. Angel is very curious around the pups, but I won't let her near them, outside of the play pen, because she acts like she is going to attack. And Grace gets really nervous if Angel gets too close to the pen, even though she can't get inside of it. So, when & how do I introduce them so that she will learn to get along with them. I can keep them separated until they go to their permanent homes, if I have to, but I'd rather not, if you have any good suggestions. Thanks!

I don't know why you can't keep them separated at least by a pen. At this age they shouldn't be allowed to wander anyway. With two women with raging hormones I would be afraid the moms might get in a fight or hurt the puppies. Mine are almost 5 weeks and they still stay in a penned area. Dad is afraid of them, but my 7 month old loves them to pieces and Mom is now okay with her playing with them (supervised by me, of course). We call her the Nanny.

I certainly can keep them separated. The entire time, as I said above, if need be. I just wondered if there was an appropriate time frame to gradually begin letting them around the other dog. Actually, when I let Angel & Grace outside together, they don't fight like they have the past 2 months of Grace's pregnancy. So, that's good for THEM, anyway.
