| Help with Stud (graffic) Ok, this is another post about my little stud man. He has sired 2 litters, I bred him with a female a couple months ago, no pregnancy. He entered her but did not stay tied. I have another female coming over and this time he is not hitting the target at all. She is bigger than him but not enough for that to be a problem I wouldn't think. He is aiming in the right direction but he doesn't penetrate he just slides up over her back. He is all the way out of the sheath and it takes him about 20 min to recover just like if they had tied. I do not see any fluid or anything. I have tried to help position him but if I touch him too much he dismounts. THe desire is there I just wonder what the problem might be. I have one more female to breed in another month and I am thinking if this continues that he may just need to be neutered, I don't understand why he won't penetrate the female She is very cooperative so it isn't that. Any suggestions? |

As soon as he realized what I was doing, he got the job done. Also, since the female is larger, you may want to fold towels or stack books to help him reach her. If a male gets too excited, he becomes to large to penetrate the female. You need to pull him away and wait until he calms down.

| I wonder if that is it. Maybe he just gets too excited to fast and then he can't penetrate. I have tried the towels and the phone book, but he is already aiming high so those don't seem to be needed, however at this point I am trying and retrying everything. |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Wow... I have to tell you...I know it's serious but this just makes me laugh to imagine the phone book scenario. I don't breed nor do I plan on breeding but I have to say the things you guys have to do....wow. Good luck with getting the job done.

| He is 19 months old. He will let me touch him, he just dismounts when I do. He is very enthusiastic, and he has sired 2 litters so I know he can do it, I just am concerned because this is the second one in a row that he has not been able to tie. We still have a few days left to try, but I am open to any suggestions as to what else to do to help him. |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Well, if all else fails, you may want to consider having a vet do an AI. It varies in price with each vet so check it out around your area. But you need to hurry or else you'll miss the window of opportunity.
