| Lynne...new member I am looking for a reputable breeder in Georgia and SC or North Fl. I would like a female Yorkie. I do not need one immediately as my Yorkie of 13 years passed away in November. Scruffy healed hearts and left many smiles. She was a certified TDI Yorkie. She made over 500 visits to places in the Savannah community. My two most important considerations are temperament, and good health OFA records going back several generations. Scruffy was purchased from a pet shop by a family member and overcame many health problems. Hope you have some suggestions. |

| You could start with yuca.org. It’s so hard to find a truly reputable breeder so I wish you luck. Just also keep in mind that Yorkies from reputable breeders can still have issues to so I recommend pet insurance.

| lynne...new to yorkie talk I did speak with Clover Hill Yorkies. They have a long waiting list of at least 20 people waiting for her dogs. They are in New Hampshire. Does anyone know of any breeders they have either bought a Yorkie from in GA. SC ,or NC.? I have contacted breeders on the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America. Many of the breeders seem to concentrate more of their efforts on showing their dogs. I am looking for a Yorkie that is pet quality with a good temperament and good bloodlines re: health going back several generations. Would appreciate any suggestions anyone might have for me. |

| You might try Miracle Yorkies in North Carolina. Don't know if she has any pups at the moment but she's a good person |

| One of the things that bugged me about her website was referring to Parti’s as rare when they are not. People who say that do it to get more money for them.

| They really isn’t much info on their website except for all the things they complete in which is very neat. So hard to judge. By looks they appear great but that’s really all there is to go by. You would have to ask questions to know more like are any of your breeding females under 5 pounds, are there any health issues that run in the lines, is there any testing they do, do the pups stay for 12 weeks and so on.

| So...Does anyone know of any specific breeders in Georgia or South Carolina that show their dogs and publish their test results on OFA? I believe that suggested testing for yorkies is eye and patella.Sometimes there is no information in the patella testing. This could mean that the breeder did not have this tested, the dog failed the patella category and the breeder did not post it on the open listing for test results.I have seen grade 1 patella and was told that this is normal by a breeder when in fact the OFA guidelines says that a grade 1 is a failure to pass and not normal. |
