| Question I have a male yorkie who weighs 10-lbs (Jackson) and female who weighs 10 lbs. (Miss Bella) they are 5yr old. she has been bread by Jack before and has had Wonderful babies. My question is when they are breading how many times do you shift days in him mounting her. Last time I kinda did not keep count and it must have been once a day for 3 days in a row. She had 7 puppies and did fine. But the first litter she had 3 puppies. So does it matter how many times vs how many puppies??? Also another question when puppies are born I can't keep from playing with them and I get scratches ALL over my arm by there nails. Afraid to cut them. So does anyone have any suggestions? thanks Cheryl |

| Dogs should only be bred to better the breed and that means only yorkies that follow the standard should breed and yours do not. I also think 5 or 6 is when the females becomes to old to breed.

I start clipping nails at 3-4wks old. Keep matings close together as you don't want fertilization of eggs too far apart. And who is your whelping coach that hasn't trained you in these basic questions?

| Question Thanks for answering my questions Miss Bella has only had 2 litters I did not breed her for 3yrs. so this is her 2 litter. Yes I know she does not meet the standard size But people who live in Texas around me all want yorkies who are 5-7 lbs which her puppies are in size. She is a small yorkie. So I have my vet who is my coach and has been for Years. I trust her she is on call 24-7. Thanks for everything... |

| Oh stoppppppp, we are all guilty of a bad post here and there...it didn't come out exactly the way I intended anyway, judging by your response....and I would expect a breeder to know how to spell bred....
