| singleton Good morning I have a healthy single 17 day old little boy that was born weighing 4 1/2oz. He has been gaining a 1/2 oz a day. I am concerned that he is gaining to much weight and that this could become a health issue. Any advise would greatly appreciated!!! |

| Don't worry...let him eat all he wants...weaning will take care of his "blubber" problem soon enough. I have had singleton so fat they could not roll over and standing was almost impossible..but once weaned, tey slimmed down to normal puppy size.. They can look like baby seals, so fat and roly-poly...my vet said not to be concerned. |

| No need to be alarmed and let the baby eat. I too have had a singleton that looked like a little fat roly-poly. This girl was out of 6 lb mom and a 3-1/2 lb dad. She was charting to be about 7-8 lbs but once weaned she lost the milk fat and slowed down. She ended up weighing under 4 lbs as an adult. |

| My puppies gained that much per day and they are now 3 3/4 lbs at 14 months. I love chubby pups. Congrats on your new baby.
