| Friends female after whelp problems!? hey my sister in laws dog had puppies a week ago (pomchi) great whelp now one week later...typical nasty diarrhea but some coughing and panting? might have temp. not preclampsia is it? i dont recongize the coughing as a sign...??? owner calling ER now female ate chicken as normal for dinner..and some dry puppy food |

| I hope she will be okay. Pregnant bitches can get preclampsia before they have their pups. After they have their pups it is called eclampsia. Do you know if they took her temperature when she was acting strange. With eclampsia they will start running a very high temperature. Breeders should always keep Cal-sorb on hand, it can save a bitch's life if they get eclampsia. |

| hey when my sil in first called i asked her to take her temp..but she was freaking out a bit and said she couldnt find it..i said is she HOT to the touch and she said very she was coughing and barking and afraid..they took her in with in a few minutes of being there the muscle spasms started she did/does have eclampsia she is much better this morning my sil in trying to feed the babies but not comfortable..her husband knows what to do but if they need any help im right here.... i should have been more vocal on the whelping pudding..my females always do fine..when they look weak i give them that or some vanilla ice cream i had just mentioned the pudding but she had left the store and said she would go back tomorrow (today) and get it.... |
