| Read this before you buy a yorkie puppy. Greetings! I found this site while doing a search for Pam Brummitt, unfortunately it was after I had purchased a yorkie puppy from her. After reading 10 pages of comments, I found out she raises poodles, brussel griffons and yorkies, she has numerous websites. And no one picks up their puppy at her home, it's always at an old office building. I purchased two tiny female yorkies (1.3 lbs) from Pam, $1200 each, one for me, one for my daughter. She said that one, named Jenna was a little finicky. That was an understatement. Jenny would not eat, I tried everything. I called Pam and bought every dog food she recommended, I took her to the vet. It got to the point I had to force feed her through a syringe and give her Karo syrup every few hours, which I did routinely for three weeks. I've had tiny yorkies all my life and never saw this kind of behavior. One morning I woke up and Jenna was stiff, cold and foaming at the mouth. I immediately got the Karo syrup and forced it into her mouth. I warmed her with water and even tried mouth to mouth. She began to move and I rushed her to the vet. They ran many tests including one for a liver shunt, the bill was over $400. The 3 vets in the practice suggested I contact the breeder because something was just not right. After more calls and e-mails, Pam agreed to take the puppy back and she said she would replace her with a similiar one. She had a new litter with a puppy just like Jenna that would be ready to go home in a month. Again I made the twelve hour drive to KY and back to drop her off. On December 19th we went back again to pick up the new puppy. She brought Jenna along to pick-up site, and asked if we'd rather have her back. I asked if she was eating. Pam said the only thing she would eat was fried chicken, she went out once a week to buy it for her. I asked if it was healthy to feed a puppy fried chicken all the time. Pam said it's OK if it's all they'll eat and it keeps her alive. Pam assured me she would never try to sell her to anyone again because she was so small and wouldn't eat properly, she said she'd worry too much. The replacement puppy is 8 weeks old and already weighs 2.5 lbs. She's very large with big ears that fold over and a long snout. She will not be the small "teacup" sized yorkie I had hoped for. Pam said I could breed her....that's not something I want to do. But after reading through the many pages of postings regarding Pam, I'm being treated just like the others who have crossed her, she tells me the "Lord" needs to take the anger from my heart, she prays for me, but of course she can't refund my money. She only raises puppies to praise God and feels unfortunate to have to deal with awful people like me. The new puppy, is also sick. she's had liquid diarreha since I picked her up. The vet said she is loaded with coccidia. Pam said it's due to stress, the vet said it's due to unsanitary conditions. Please read this article. How is coccidiosis prevented or controlled? Because coccidia is spread by the feces of carrier animals, it is very important to practice strict sanitation. All fecal material should be removed. Housing needs to be such that food and water cannot become contaminated with feces. Clean water should be provided at all times. Most disinfectants do not work well against coccidia; incineration of the feces, and steam cleaning, immersion in boiling water, or a 10% ammonia solution are the best methods to kill coccidia. Coccidia can withstand freezing. Cockroaches and flies can mechanically carry coccidia from one place to another. Mice and other animals can ingest the coccidia and when killed and eaten by a dog, for instance, can infect the dog. Therefore, insect and rodent control is very important in preventing coccidiosis. And get this.....to my surprise I looked on Puppyfinders yesterday and Pam Brummitt has Jenna listed for sale at $1500, the puppy she said she would never sell again. And she boasts that the puppy has had all it's shots and even a liver shunt test....of course, THAT I PAID FOR. I left a review, stating only the facts and she had it removed....so much for website rankings, I guess you can only leave a 5 star review or the breeder can have it removed. She sent me an email this morning threating legal action for slander FOR TELLING THE TRUTH. (She did also say that she only bred puppies for God, and not for the money, which, of course, is ALWAYS non-refundable.) So now I have another innocent, puppy. I can't help but love her, yet I would have never picked her out from a litter, or spent $1200 on her. And she's sick, which means more vet bills. |

| There must be some legal action you can take that will prompt an investigation against this woman. Perhaps your local SPCA? She needs to be shut down yesterday!. I'm not a wealth of information but I'm sure that once other YT members read this they will have loads of great advice for you. Good luck. Congrats on your new baby.

Thanks for your post. {{Since you posted: "by the evening, if shes not ate any or much food..." -- I'll say again that it still sounds to me as if something may be un-diagnosed here. Since she had a seizure (foaming at mouth/hypoglycemia etc), there could be more going on w/ her than just intermittent hypoglycemia...}}

| I am so sorry to hear about all of the problems you have having to go through with your babies. I do know that there is plenty of legal action that you can take towards this lady. I know this sounds funny, but I have seen enough People's Court to know this, not to mention the fact that what she has done to you and these puppies is unacceptable! Do yourself a favor and get a lawyer, or at least file your own suit against her...

| I really wonder at times if we have a "rat" here at YT who loves to report all negative posts or threads to whomever gets spoken about badly. Seems whoever it is goes through a lot of trouble to hunt the contact info out to "tattletale" and must love to watch it all go down, hmmm.... Sad. I wish the OP well with her new yorkie and wish Jenna all the best too. |

| I never would, but sometimes I feel like telling these puppy mills who hide behind religion WHAT WOULD JESUS HAVE DONE? Of course I'd get a response claiming I was nuts, their dogs are house pets that sleep in their bed, I need to accept Jesus as my saviour, they'll pray for me. It's almost as if they follow a 'how to' on how to fight backlash. Wonder if that annoying paperclip gives them advice...

| Oh My Goodness Boy, is this a can of worms. From the sound of her post. I think someone should be looking into this matter. Wow!! If I had all the documentation on purchasing these Yorkies, you better believe, I would be taking legal action. Just reading this information, it's going to get to the point, you will be required home checks before anyone breeds. A few weeks ago on Yorkietalk I saw a puppy mill for the first time and how they auction off these dogs as pieces of meat. It turned my stomach. These poor little puppies, they don't even have a chance. If you are NOT going to be a responsible breeder and care for the health of these puppies, then STOP BREEDING!! God didn't give anyone the right to create in His name. Only God Creates.... If you are doing anything in God's name, it's only giving freely of yourself to others and not for PROFIT. That's the way "God" wants it. |

How-ever what I don't wonder about is the fact that you two should take this off line and talk to one another. You will get no support here by selling a sick puppy to someone even if you later took it back. The fact that your puppy of Your Breeding seemed to have had a seizure is and should be sobering enough for you to resolve your issues with your purchaser.

| Yes, this is not slander, or something I have made up. I have all the vet records and $400 of bills which I gave Pam copies of. Jenna had a seizure on 11/18 when she was 10 1/2 weeks old, despite my best efforts to force feed her and give her Karo syrup every few hours as Pam Brummitt had advised . I had three differrent vets look at her and all concluded something was definitely wrong. And now she's trying to sell her on Puppfinders again, for $1500, after she assured me she would not. And to further complicate things, I can't get the AKC registration for the sick replacement puppy because Pam says the father "JJ" was used as a stud more than three times this year, so he must be DNA tested first. Does anyone know about this? |

| All three of Pam Brummitt's puppies had coccidia and I have the vet records to document it. Jenna had coccidia too, and that's on the vet report I gave Pam when I returned her. I also gave Pam the medicine that I had paid for and she even contacted me to ask about the dosage. I have copies of e-mails that I sent Pam that stated both Carla and Jenna had coccidia and needed treatment. I also told her the replacement puppy was sick but she never responded to my e-mails. Now she says none of her dogs have it, the vet said that's not possible. |

| I don't know why the buyer is always the one in the wrong in these kinds of breeders minds. The ones who are out to scam always have ignorant negative things to say about the PEOPLE who buy and SAVE their innocent puppies? Wouldn't you rather someone buy a sick baby from you and save it rather then dump it ? I'm sure God doesn't want any more puppies born in his name, he's got enough up in heaven who were neglected, sick, homeless and lonely. |

| Hi, I'm Maria...Jenna's new mommy! No need to worry Susan, Jenna is doing incredible!!! I purchased Jenna from Pam on Feb. 26,2010 and she was very honest with me. Pam told me about Jenna's history and she was cautious about sending her to an appropriate home with the right conditions because Jenna was small. Pam was not happy about flying Jenna to me alone so she sent me a male yorkie, free to keep Jenna company on the plane. Pam was nothing but sweet and honest with me. When I received Jenna she was 2.1 pounds and the very next day I took her to my vet who said Jenna was healthy. Jenna only gave me a hard time eating the very first day that I got her. By the next morning, Jenna was already eating out of my Shihtzu's bowl. Jenna is a very active little girl with tremendous spirit. Jenna now weighs 3.8 pounds at 9 months and has no problem eating, she's a beggar! Jenna has brought so much joy and love to my family and I am very grateful to Pam. Pam was honest about Jenna being a returned puppy that had a hard time eating. I wasn't worried since I am home a lot and the puppy would be supervised. Also, Pam spent plenty of time with me on the phone going over details about taking care of Jenna...I thought she was too cautious and Pam really loved Jenna! So please don't bash Pam...she sent me a beautiful, tiny, and healthy puppy. Jenna is doing great and eating great....God Bless you Pam for sending me my beautiful Jenna!!!!! |
