| I've got 1 that was on spay/nueter. Another that was on open but, bought from a BYBer with no intention of breeding her. The rest were are show so, they are on open registration.

| No spay/neuter contract I bought mine from a hobby breeder who did not require spay/neuter. Full AKC registration with no question as to what I would do with him. Shame. I've had so many issues with my little guy too. This breeder just wanted my money. Had I known better at the time I wouldve chose a different breeder. But my baby is the highlight of my day no matter who the breeder was. |

| No doubt. I had never bought or had a dog before. This was so new. I didn't know what she should be asking me. All I knew was that I found the breed I wanted and went to petsmart and bought every cute thing for him I could find. I met her off the interstate because she wouldn't let me in her home she says due to theft ( I was sooooo ignorant), she only knew my name and what I'd be driving and phone number. I now have a sweet oversized yorkie who's hair isn't growing beyond an inch and he's 8 months. This kind of breeder doesn't want to answer questions. Just wants money. |

| Over the years I have never bought any dog of any breed on a spay and neuter contract. You might want to start a poll on this subject or post it in the general section. I would be curious to see how many pet owners on YT actually bought their pups on a spay and neuter contract. |

Things have changed so much in the last 10 years. None of the yorkie breeder/exhibitors that I know sell a pup any other way. As a matter of fact many are spay/nuetering before placing. That is unless it's being placed in a show home and then it's with a very stringent contract. I know my contract for show is 3 generation.

| Mary, I know things have really changed in the last 10 years. I think we can contribute a lot of that to the internet and websites like YT. I know I do things a lot differently now than I did when I first started raising yorkies. Most of the pups I sell now are sold with limited registration and I keep pups a lot longer than I use to. My personal feelings are that early spay and neutering are not in the best interest of the pups so I will not encourage that practice but I do encouraging spaying and neutering once they are older. I know some will not agree. I truly understand why reputable breeders, like yourself, want to protect their bloodline. |

I read every day, on YT and breeder websites.....stating their pups are Championed sired or grandsired......Champion Lines from such and such pedigrees.......These people are pedigree hunters for the sole purpose of selling their puppies. I know some that even go the backdoor to obtain a good pedigree. So, reputable breeders have become very skeptical, tightened up their contracts and are very, very selective on where their dogs go. They are keeping their pups longer in order to perform the spay/nueter. All my pups are sold on spay/nueter contract. With the exception of one and she has jumped through hoops to get a show dog from me. She doesn't make a move without asking me or my mentor. Whom by the way she contacted to get her permission to buy the dog. I trust her completely.

| My breeder didn't have a spay/neuter contract, but Chloe will be spayed soon anyway. |

I never even heard of this until I was doing a search for Joey, and at first I wasn't too sure what to think, but then it dawned on me, this breeder most really care about her dogs, and what becomes of them. I think people should only support those breeders who require a spade and neuter contract. Most dogs should not be bred, and most people should not be breeders! If we weren't putting to death millions of dogs each year, I wouldn't feel so strongly about this.

| My breeder didn't have a neuter contract, but on Conner's first vet appointment with me (at 12 weeks), I made the appointment for his neuter for when he was 6 months old.

| When we bought Mia from the petstore - I wanted it left open because I thought I wanted to breed her After finding YT and reading everything we could - we immediately had her spayed. Max, on the other hand was sold to us directly from his breeder on a neuter contract, which we honored without question - immediately.
