| Has anyone heard of Tanoe Reed in WV, also known as blue monday exclusive? Im a little worried, I contacted Tanoe Reed about a puppy she had posted on puppyfind, I am an Orthopedic Surgeon in the Bay Area in Cali. I asked her for more pics of the pups and parents, and if she knows of any health conditions in her lineage, I also asked if she could provide me with a health guarantee I could view, this was her response, "You can call me at...and I can give it to you?" How do you respond to a potential buyer of one of your pups in that manner? I dont think i was asking to much, and response back to me when I explained was that there are many scammers out there? By asking if she had a health guarantee, and may i view it? and more pics of the puppies and parents? she can describe them over the phone to me, and she could tell me all we wants about her health guarantee, but before i buy, i would like to see it, am i wrong? or is this how all breeders conduct theirselves? i emailed her, explained what we were looking for, told her about me and my wife, and all i get is "call me and i can and i can give it to you?" I would completely stay away from breeders like this, i read a book on what to ask a breeder when buying a new puppy, and this is an alarm set off, she was very rude when writing back, i feel like she has something to hide! she said if i was serious to call her? i dont want to waste my time bc people can speak in a way that they can basically sell you on it before seeing it, so i wanted more pics and to look over a health warranty before i took the next step of contacting her, i ask about her lineage, pedigree, health, and pictures, was i asking for to much? especially since this was going to be a family memeber and the cost was 2000.00 for the pup? we are still looking, but i just want to make sure that im not asking the wrong questions..any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | I have heard of her and seen her website. I have never bought anything from her though.. I don't think she lives far from me. Maybe she wants to see if your serious before she spends the time emailing you all that. I can see that. I would rather talk to people on the phone than email to decide if "I " want them to have one of my pups. I know I talk to alot of people that has no intention in really buying a pup..even if I had any..lol

I do not have one of her puppies but I do know 2 people who DO have her puppies and they are GORGEOUS and HEALTHY. Both have nothing but good to say about her and her puppies. It is really difficult to "hear" tone and intent in a typed message. My interpretation of "Call me and I will give it to you" will be comepletely different than yours. That is exactly what I would have said as well. The biggest reason is because I am not a typist and it takes a lot of effort to type out an email with all of the information on it. I would rather talk to a person and get a feel for whether they truly are a candidate to parent one of my babies, before I sent all of the information to them. She is just screening. Just imagine if 5 people have emailed her asking for the same things. That is a lot of work and talking to them over the phone first will help her to screen you and help you to screen her. Give Tanoe a chance. I think you will be pleased.

| I have a male from Tanoe, she and I talked for hours.. she wants to talk to any potential buyers for her puppies, they just do not go to anyone.. she is precaustious but any good breeder would be.. When your breeding and caring for whelping moms, looking after babies, and of course your other dogs.. you do not always have time to send individual emails and it is more personal via telephone... So call her and talk to her... why is emails the utmost importance to you.. I got to know Tanoe just through talking to her..and she just does not sell to just anyone, not matter what your statis is.. your still unknown to her and a buyer looking for a puppy... hope this eases some of your questions.. She does not just take a payment over the net and sell a dog that easily.. which i personally liked.. |

| I realize this thread is super-old...I just did a YT search and found it. Is there any additional input from members here on this breeder? My aunt is looking for a yorkie baby and was asking for my help in her search. She had asked my opinion of this breeder...I found this thread and a couple of concerning reviews via google search after looking at the website...so thought I would ask if anyone here has recent experience (positive or negative). Thanks in advance for any help!

| I was wondering if you live in CA why you are not looking there? You should visit the home and see the parents and how they are raised and see the puppies. You never want to have one shipped to you sight unseen, would you adopt a child that way? Believe me it will be your child and a family member for many years to come There is a Yorkies Speciality coming up in Pomona Ca in May you will see some beautiful yorkies and be able to meet with breeder dedicated to producing the best possible and believe when you will not pay any more!!!!! If you would like more info on the show email me for further info Sparklingbluyorkies.com |

| Thanks for your replies. Yes, I live in Texas- however, as I was saying, my aunt is interested in getting her first yorkie and was asking for my advice and input. My multiple-yorkie family is already complete...at least for the moment. :-) When searching for this breeder...this post came up as an old thread so I was wondering if there was any current info that may be of use. Thanks again for your replies.
