I have a question on Testicles dropping I was thinking about getting a little AKC Parti Yorkie hes 3 lbs and will be one in Aug. but his testicles have not dropped yet. so he will probably need surgery . They paid $3000 for him but letting him go cheaper because of this. how much does it cost to have this surgery done and with him being only 3 lbs is that to much of a risk in its self? have any of you had a male that did not drop theirs?Id really like to help this sweet baby out and get him the care he needs. hes such a cutie.

Okay I just got off the phone with the vet. she said it would be about $125.00 plus cost of meds. said being only 3 lbs they would have to use gas, so they could control it. Last edited by YorkieShadow; 06-05-2009 at 01:06 PM.

You can purchase a spay/neuter certificate at the Friends of Animals (right side, type in your zipcode) and they will give you a list of Vets in your area that will accept the cert as payment for the spay/neuter. The cert costs: Female Dog Spay $90.00 Male Dog Neuter $64.00 The Vet *may* have weight limits or a few *extra* charges ontop of those prices above. Check into it ....I would still go the gas route

The anesthetic of choice is Sevoflorine or Isoflorine. If the vet doesn't use that, find another vet.

Well the owner never emailed me back, so its looking like she don't want to come down on the price for him. DH doesn't want to pay that amount , says he just put a good amount out on a surprised B-Day gift for me for Tuesday. so I guess we wont be getting him, I so wanted to help this little guy out. If any one else is interested in him pm me for his info.

Give them time I sold a male puppy to a lady at work and his testicles didn't come down at age 6 months so she was going to have the surgery but wedding plans put a hold on his surgery and now they are down, just takes time for some of them I even knew a breeder who's stud dogs testicles didn't come down until he was 10 months old so just be patient, I know the lady didn't get back with you I just wanted to post for others that are worried.

If they don't drop, the Vet has to go searching for them and remove them, it is very dangerous to leave them

| I've had a couple that didn't drop until they were 9 months. Are you saying both haven't dropped? They will have to go in surgically and have to remove them if they don't.
