| 2 heat cycle in 1 month? so my baby girl went into heat a week before Thanksgiving and my girl friend and i sent her to my moms house. I didnt want to breed her since she had a litter( 1 pup) on 8-9-08. I was sure she was in heat because i checked for blood. After 1 month i made sure that her heat cycle is over and all was well before i took her home again. around the 22 of December she tied with my baby boy and now she is pregnant. how is this possible? Im so confused! |

| My staff,Nikki always mates around the 25th day of her cycle-she won't even entertain a male before day 21 from the first spot of blood. Maybe your girl had a bit of a discharge before the actual bleeding started, this has happened to us too-where she has spotted for a few days then started bleeding several days later!

| It sounds like persistent estrus or a split heat. It is definitely possible. Just about anything can happen including silent heats. the best way to avoid it is to have her spayed...
