Ok so every time I take Luda to the park or shows or anything people always ask me if he is a stud dog I tell them no he is only 6 1/2 months old... They say dont get him fixed he would be a great stud dog b/c he is sooooo small... what do you think should i fix him or NO? what should i know about making hima stud dog if i do so? thanks im new to this!!

Why not read through the archives? We have many threads regarding this subject..lots of info. If you go to shows and Yorkie breeders tell you to breed him, I am surprised by that..most will encourage you to show first.
Do you have an up to date photo you can post?

They havent been yorkie breeders who have told me this... the shows i went to actually didnt have yorkies or I didnt see them... Only one breeder has told me this when i went to her house to look at her yorkie pups...

You have a lovely companion pet..is he a good boy in the house? Does he mark and pee on everything and anything? If you want a stud dog,then breed him, if you want a companion pet, neuter asap. It is very hard to have both. Best wishes

He is a good boy so far... he does mark outside every now and then but has never marked in the house... kepping my fingers crossed... Are you a breeder?

Yes, Pat is a breeder and a very well respected member. She's bred champion yorkies and her dogs speak for themselves.

I am curious how big he is? He's a cutie pie, for sure. Do you have his pedigree? Does he have papers?

This is a big decision as a boy that has been used for breeding can be nearly impossible to housebreak, even if you have him neutered later. There are a lot of things to consider and we'll try to help you make a sound decision.

I always get asked that as well because of Gus's size. He only grew to be 2.9 lbs and me being totally clueless about breeding, I thought he would need a female his size to even reach her. LOL,,, I know stupid ha. But when I did all my research about yorkies, it was just to learn about the care of and the history of. Breeding never did come to mind till after he had already been fixed. Gus came with papers and all but I All I wanted was a pet to love and spoil. I had him fixed at 6 monthes and soon after I thought it may have been a mistake in doing so. But after doing more research about breeding I am very glad with my decision. Good luck with your decision. Just make sure you do all your homework and know all the pro's and con's about it.

By the way, Your baby is a cutie!

he is 2.8lbs... Yes he has AKC papers... and yes I have seen his pedigree I misplaced it but I did order it from AKC... I could point out his flaws according to the breed standard and his good traits... Im most likely going to nueter him because Im sure all the housebreaking issues arent worth the outcome!!! he is house trained as of now so I dont think I want to ruin that.. it was hard enough without him being a stud dog!!

As a breeder with three very pretty boys that I love, who must live in their belly bands when in the house (about 80% of the day) and who completely lose their tiny little minds whenever any of the girls are in heat (They forget to eat, forget their names, forget their manners) I think you will be very glad that you made the choice to neuter.

Wow! Your Yorkie is absolutely gorgeous! I have seen very few Yorkies like him! I am not a breeder, but I think that you need to think long and hard about this! Don't just breed him because everyone tells you to, you need to do what you want and what is best for your baby! If you want a companion pet, neuter him asap. If you really do want to breed him, than do it! Some un-neutered dogs can pick up bad habits, but a lot of them don't. It is just a chance. Really, the decision is up to you on whether you want to make him a stud dog. If it is what you really want to do and it is best for your Yorkie, than go for it! I am sure if you did breed him, his puppies would be gorgeous because your baby is such a good-looking Yorkie!
