We are expecting puppies anyday now and just have a question about pre-labor. We have been taking her temp. routinely every 12 hours and so far no drop yet. There has been no change to her external genitalia, but her milk is definitely coming in. Tonight we've noticed that she is quite swollen from her vagina to her first set of nipples, she did not appear this way this morning. She is still acting normally, eagerly eating as much as we will allow and no other changes. Does anyone know if this swelling is normal, and what it could mean? Thanks so much.

She is just getting ready for her process before birth. Nothing to worry about and you have plenty of time. The end is really hard to wait and seems like forever. I can't wait to hear your good news and pics. How many are you expecting?

Thank you for your response. We are expecting three according to the xrays, but our vet said that it he always tells people that could be plus or minus one.
