| I have found in the past that my girls lose weight before they gain. A sure way to know if she is with pups go have a ultra-sound done. You can do this now, my vet prefers to do it this early, you can get a better count on the pups, becuz there is less chance of one hiding behind a sibling. I ultra-sound all my girls twice during pregnancy in the stage you are at- so we can get a baby estimate (all you will see at this stage is nodules) then on the 56 to 57th day to make sure what pups they have haven't grown two large. This is just my way of trying to keep my girls safe as possible. I rather be safe than sorry and every pregnancy is different. Good luck and keep us posted!!!

| Thanks Snow Yorkies, I did not even think of that & would not have thought they could do it so soon. I will check with my vet Monday Morning.

| Thanks for posting this, because I too wasn't sure if my Ginger was pregnant. She doesn't look like she's gaining at all. Is it too early for x-rays as well? My two sealed the deal July 9th at midnight. |

| You can also palpate her at 27-32 days into her pregnancy if your female is very cooperative you may even be able to count how many puppies there are, I have found this very reliable they will feel like little peanuts in there, the more relaxed she is the better it is to get a full count. |

| I would never tell a new breeder to palpate, too much risk, why would you ever recommend this to a novice!!!!!
