| Have you seen any of his stools lately? How does his bottom look....does it look red or irritated? If it is just constipation then a little Karo syrup and water will help soften his stools. Is he eating solid food? Sometimes when a puppy has coccidia they will strain and nothing will come out. I would watch him close and perhaps maybe take him to the vets. |

| At six weeks he should be eating solid food pretty well. I do not give mine mush and at six weeks he should not need mush. Take a good quality dry puppy food (Canidae, Chicken Soup, Solid Gold), grind it fine in a blender. Just put this dry food in a small bowl and he will start eating it. I leave this ground dry food down all the time for them to munch on. Twice a day I add a little canned Pedigree Lamb and Rice puppy food to some of the dry food, just enough to make it a little moist and I offer that to them. I am a little concerned about his scooting and the fact you said his stool had a little mucous on it. Have you had his stool checked by the vet yet? If not then it would be a good idea to do so. Keep us posted on how he is doing. |
