Baby would be 52 days today from her 1st tie. I went and got all my supplies today. I wanted to see what her temp is running and it says 99.4, this is a brand new dig redcross thermometer. What I have read is a normal temp is 101-102. So should I just keep a eye on her temp? I don't want to take it to many times and injure her rectum.

Missy, looking back on my log book for Maggie and Sunnie they both ran around 99-100 the week before they started having the babies. They dropped to 97.8 right before whelping. Each thermometer might read a little different, also.

I used a Vick's digital thermometer. I have never taken her temp before and didn't stick it in very far. Is that right? I was afraid to stick it in any further.

You will know when you are in far enough. I put it in about 1 1/2"
I took her temp this morning and it was 99.9
we have about 10 more days to go.
She goes to the vet WED to have her exrays.

You're doing fine, you just don't want to force it. If she's going for xray ask the vet or tech what would be best. Make a list and ask lots of questions.

One more thing...

...Auntie Jeanie is where on your list of people to let know how many puppies?????

I got my scales yesterday and I don't know if I like them, they are digital but seem small, they will be ok for tiny pups, but when they start getting bigger, there going to be to small.

what kind of scales do you use? I got these from Target and paid $30 for them, I wish I would have went with the one on Ebay, it's a postal/kitchen scale.

I looked at that baby scale just a min ago and that is very nice! I think you will be very happy with it!

What an exciting time for you! I can't wait to see pictures of Baby's puppies....not too much longer.

As for a scale,here is the one that I own (it is big enough for Livi to sit on and she weighs 4 and a half pounds.). http://cgi.ebay.com/Digital-Postal-S...QQcmdZViewItem

I did not buy my scale from this particular seller,though. The seller that I purchased mine from no longer sells the exact one but it looks like this seller has a good feedback rating.
