| puppy shots...every 2 weeks or 4 weeks? i took my puppy to get his 3rd set of shots last weekend and the vet wouldn't do it because he said he just got them 2 weeks prior. he said puppy shots should be administered every month as opposed to every 2 weeks. my other dog got hisshots every 2 weeks. what do you all think?

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I had that talk with my vet too.. my Yorkie jacks got their first set of puppy shots at 6 weeks and today they got the second set at 10 weeks he suggest the shots every 4 weeks. Now the new families have to take them at 14 weeks for the 3rd set, He also does not beleive in shots before 6 weeks of age. hugs, Carmen in nj |

| Definitely no sooner than 4 weeks apart. Newer protocol suggests no puppy shots should begin until 12 weeks of age.......

| Giving vaccines every two weeks only suppresses the immune system. Vaccines should never be given less than three weeks apart. 3-4 weeks apart is ok. Vaccines shouldn't start before 8 weeks of age. 8,12,and 16 weeks is optimal

| Every 3-4 weeks...never 2 weeks apart. 8, 12 and 16 weeks is okay but I'd prefer to start later if I thought that I could keep the pups safe. I would not do any before 8 weeks. You would just be interfering with maternal antibodies anyway (which would probably happen if you started at 8 weeks also but not everyone is comfortable with the 12 week start...).
