My male yorkie, Hobbs, used to stay in his crate when he was very young and not potty trained. I crated him for 6 months and he never got used to it...he ALWAYS hated it. Once I realized he was never going to get used to his crate, I started leaving him out. He's been so much happier and a whole lot less anxious.
