A breeder told me that if I was not going to breed Ben, I should neuter him before he started lifting his leg -- I said too late, he was already doing that when I got him at 10 weeks. I think it is just natural. You can't ask your human man to sit when he pees (although I wish you could -- the aim would be much better) and you can't really ask your male Yorkie to not lift a leg if he has the inclination.
