An unneutered male will mark regardless if he is bred or not. It could get worse though if you were to breed him. I just put bellybands on my males and there is no marking plus I love the cute designs you can get for the belly bands.
Keep in mind that even neutering does not always stop them from humping and marking. I know several people who have males that are neutered, and were neutered at a young age, that will hump and mark everything. So there are never any guarantees with male dogs. But if you are not going to breed them, then you should neuter them because they are at a higher risk for cancer to develop.
