DO call them up! That's what we did - we realized these past few months that Rowdy needed someone besides our geriatric dog to play with (and his geriatric parents!
) so........ we called up his breeder and sure enough she was going to have pups in Jan - so we waited and waited and waited and now we have little Rexy!
Rowdy was not thrilled at first, but he quickly warmed up and now they just have a ball playing together. Rowdy is still possessive of the toys and he will get them all and put them on the couch where Rexy can't get them!
But then when I make is clear that Rexy is to get to play with something, Rowdy is just fine.
Also, Rowdy HAS to be on our laps anytime we are holding Rexy - but I think that is completely normal and that in time - he will not be so possessive of us.
