 Diet and Diabetes
Hello, I have tried to search threads but I am not finding the info I need. I have an 11 year old Yorkie who has been diagnosed with diabetes. She is 10lbs and has maintained that weight throughout her life so she us a larger breed. RightNow the vet has her on 5 units of vetsulin. She is now struggling with dry kibble because of teeth issues and I have been trying various foods.
I can't get her sugars down as a result.
My question is, how many calories per lb should she be getting and what have you all had success with? Thank you so much for you advice. I hate seeing her struggle. |
