But, the main thing that keeps me away is illness. I think dog parks are a great place to share germs...and some of the viral illnesses that go around can be pretty bad. I went through something years ago...it ; was a virus that started in the dog tracks in Florida and ended up all over the US. I had five pups in the hospital from it...two in ICU. They had all been at a photo shoot at a dog boutique. Guess I am a germaphobic....just don't like my pups to be around others. I am lucky that I have many and they have their own backyard dog park. LOL

Piper is very little-dog friendly, but is (rightfully) wary of larger dogs. I think she'd love to run loose with other her size, but, overall, I don't trust situations where dogs are milling about off-leash. Too much can happen too fast! And I really understand the fear of germs especially experiencing what you did after photo shoot; terrifying. I can only imagine the antics of your little gang running amuck and having such fun in your big backyard!!
