I agree too that eating dogs is disgusting. Boiling live animals is wrong as well. Some people eat animals while they're alive (Japan Sushi/Frogs, Chinese quick fry fish while the head is alive, etc.) and I find that all disgusting. My point is, people should speak up about it if they can make a difference. If people sign petition and voice their opinions, then turn around and have a hamburger, that's counter productive and useless. Signing a petition for something that's not within the govern of U.S. laws will do no good. I'm not sure how we could stop the Chinese from such gruesome acts nor stop the beef industry in their practices. I haven't heard of any news about the government from both countries step in and do anything.
On the bright side, there are groups of animal activists that goes to this festival each year and purchase some of these dogs and rescue them.
