Uni had a few and our vet said the same thing. The first three or so times I had them send it out for testing to see what it was. After a few times I am now able to tell if it's the same kind of bump and just not bother taking it out and having them test it. It's def over $100 each time, just to let me know it was something like an ingrown hair or backed up hair follicle.
She did have one on the top of her foot once though and it was kinda big, like a 1/4" diam. The vet didn't want to take it off bc there wasn't enough skin to stitch it back up. They did a needle aspiration and sent that sample out (again nothing
) and the bump stayed but turned black. I figured it was the blood underneath that turned color when it dried. It stayed like that for months and months. I would check it daily to see if it was changing size or not. One day I went to check and it wasn't there! At first I thought I was checking the wrong foot. Nope! It just went and fell off by itself. So weird.
