I personally know at least 3 dogs and a horse, that have hung themselves from collars and the horse was put out to pasture with a halter on.....I always caution my owners about putting collars on their dogs, laden with tags. If you insist on a collar, a break away cat collar for the tags would be the only safe option....and tags attached to their harness is a much preferable option....
