Joels been slipping out the door lately and even though its pretty easy to get him back I was so worried thinking of what could happen when he finds out he could run away. The last couple times he's acting like he wants to go off more.
Obviously it's all my fault for not teaching him, today is the last straw for me being careless.
It's so difficult to not let him slip out. I've tried leaving the two gates up in the foyer area, theres two entry ways to the front door but people always leave them open, I told everyone to just not open the door until both gates are closed and that got alittle better but then someone still leaves it open.
With the daycare there's about 6-8 times people are dropping off and picking up kids, and thats another problem, when I get close to teaching him he forgets everything when a kid comes through the door.
So I was watching some videos on youtube about it and found a good video with 3 steps to help me train him
I think I'm going to have his leash on in the morning when kids come and later when they get picked up.
Also it's harder to train him bc he pretends he doesn't want anything so he doesn't have to listen, He rather not go on a walk just so he doesn't have to sit for his harness and sit to go out the door
So i'm getting frustrated
