My Patrick is 18 months and we just got a baby girl who was 14 weeks. I was really amazed at how easily she became housetrained, I believe the reason she trained faster is that she was copying the actions of her new older brother. I agree you should wait until you have this one housetrained, if for no other reason than it is easier to get their attention at this age if they are not distracted by another puppy.
Patrick, at 7 lbs, is gentle and careful when playing with the new puppy, who weighs 2.5 lbs. But I still watch them so she isn't accidently hurt when they romp together. Now that I see the benefits of having one a year older, I am glad I waited.
