i ALWAYS get my pumpkin like three weeks early ...i love the pumpkin farm and it takes me atleast an hour to pick mine..im a picky pumpkin picker
well I get home and transfer my image right away then i piant it on my pumpkin usually with acrylic paints that way my pattern can be enjoyed for much longer the easy way to transfer your pattern is to tape it on and use a nail ( if using a nail do not poke all the way through your pumpkin just barely break the flesh with the point ) or a pattern transfer wheel poke holes along your entire pattern pull the pattern off and keep it for refrence now rub flower over pattern the flower will settle into the holes and make them stand out against your orange pumpkin now play connect the dots i usually use a sharpie for this i carve about 4ish days before halloween ..always cover the cut edges of your pumpkin with vaseline make sure its in a display area thats cool and dosent get direct sunlight if you use a bettery operated light its much better then a candle heat is your pumpkins enemy they make bettery power pumpkin strobe lights which is awesome for scary pumpkins. another tip if your craving a delicate pattern with lots of small cutout hallow out your pumpkins and thin the walls as much as you can while still keeping its structual strength. if your pumpkin is getting whimpy before its time totally submerge it in water and leave it there to soak for about 20-30 minutes if its a hot day bring your pumpkin inside and put it in the fridge

sorry im slightly pumpkin crazy lol
