A slicker brush is a must have item. Just take a little mat at a time and brush from the tip end of the hair upward being extra careful not to scrape the skin. After all the mats are out, then use a nice conditioner that you can spray on and leave in. Be sure to brush every day with a pen brush making sure you get the soft coat next to the skin. When you shampoo your baby, make sure all mats are out, then use a very gentle shampoo and rinse and rinse and rinse and rinse again. It's very important to completely rinse, then use a good conditioner.
