even if you brush his teeth and dry food they still need teeth cleanings sadly just like we do - think of their teeth like our teeth minus the cavities as they do not eat sugar like we do so that is not a big issue with them but they still need the tartar removed. The reason they say dry food is bc it is harder for it to get below the gum line unlike wet food but wet food prevents kidney damage so why some feed dry in am and wet in pm so there are pluses and minuses of both but brushing is key to saving teeth. I have learned alot about teeth since my maltese lost 27 to periodontal disease at 4 and we went to a board certified dentist.
Yes natural balance vegetarian is also used for mvd dogs as it is a low protein diet. My mvd dog is on purina ha a hydrolized soy diet which is vegetarian as well. Her numbers went from 73 and 54 post to 26 on the diet after 6 months.
Many dogs like L/D better if you bake it in the oven
