My boy is 5 years old and weighs 15 lbs or 6.8 kg. He is very big for a Yorkie, but not fat at all. You should be able to feel his ribs, but not see them. If you are feeding a good food and giving your dog regular walks and exercise I wouldn't worry about his weight. If he develops a belly or seems fat, you could switch to a weight control food, but at 1 year old he is still practically a puppy!
